RHINO RANCH by Larry McMurtry
Winner of both a Pulitzer Prize and an Academy Award, I started reading McMurtry in college and still pick up his books every now and then. This is the 5th book in the Duane Moore saga which started with THE LAST PICTURE SHOW way back in 1966.
AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS by H. P. Lovecraft
One of Lovecraft’s longer works, a cornerstone of his mythology. I probably should’ve read this a while ago, since I’ve been using Mythos elements in my own writing for about 10 years, but Lovecraft can be a little hard to get through for me. I think I’ve read more Lovecraft pastiche than actually Lovecraft.
